UPDATE: What to expect in 2015

There's less than 100 days left until Mississippi State kicks off its 2015 football season at Southern Miss on September 5th.  With the season inching closer and closer, more and more information is coming out about the uniforms for the 2015 season.

It has been known for a while that the DWS 100 unis will return as the regular uniforms.  We still don't know exactly what they will look like, but at this point my best guess is: same jerseys with no oversized logo on the pants.  However, as it comes to alternates, the past week has given us some hints in the form of the "What to wear" schedule:

LSU- Whiteout
Northwestern St.- upper deck Maroon lower level White
Troy- upper deck White lower level Maroon
La Tech- Stripeout
Kentucky-Blackout
Alabama-True Maroon
Egg Bowl-Maroon

The first thing that stands out from that list is the whiteout against LSU.  I'd be very much in favor of us forcing LSU to wear purple.  What a great matchup that would be:

Next is the stripeout vs La Tech.  Last year was the 100th anniversary of Davis Wade Stadium, and this year is the 120th anniversary of the football program itself.  So it looks like the Bulldogs will wear 1895 throwbacks in the game vs La Tech.  Scott Stricklin even retweeted the below photo, giving an idea of what the uniforms will be based on:

So, based on that, this is my initial mockup of the 1895 throwbacks:
The final, and potentially the worst, thing to take from this is the blackout vs Kentucky.  Mississippi State hasn't worn a black jersey since 2011.  Will they bring them back in 2015?  Unfortunately, all signs point to "yes".  This year's version should be in the template of the DWS 100 unis, meaning that they should look better than the 2009-2011 version.  Still, no black jersey is preferable.
Of course, you should also expect some type of special uniforms for the 2015 Egg Bowl, bringing the total of jerseys in 2015 to 5.  But since we have no idea what its design will be, the below graphic will only include the 4 jerseys that we know more about:
One last note: Thanks to Fonts By Conrad for releasing the "Starkville" font, which will be used as the main font in the 2015 uni tracker, and is accurate for the jersey numbers and nameplates.
